Artemis

Chapter 3   “How did she react to four bags yesterday?” Dr. Holden asked Jacob as they went to Artemis. Artemis was strapped to a table currently standing upright with her legs and arms far apart. Wires were attached all over her and the heart monitor beeped every couple of seconds. Her hair was cut nearly to her scalp her head hung down on her chest, eyes closed in pain. The straps had made raw rings around her wrists and ankles when she fought them due to the shock treatments or the Blue IV’s.  Dr. Holden lifted Artemis’s chin and opened her eyes to shine a light on them. Artemis Chapter 2 Jet revved his motorcycle and shot through the yellow light at 75 miles an hour. He laughed under his helmet at the stunned looks on people’s faces as he zoomed by. He raked his hand through his long gray hair and moved it out of his eyes. “When she’s not around to hear me say it, yes.” His dark blue eye winked at Apollo as he fell into the overstuffed gray couch in the living room. His blue jeans and red flannel shirt looked tight against his enormous muscles, his boots strangely dirty. Apollo laughed harder and shook his head. His neon blue eyes twinkling, he said, “Wait till I tell her you said it.” He tugged his crisp white shirt down over his tan slacks, his black shoes shiny from a recent cleaning. Hephaistos blanched and jumped to his feet. “You wouldn’t.” “He wouldn’t what?” Athena asked as she walked confidently down the steel staircase towards the boys. Her hair was shoulder length and a cool gray different from the others. Her tight...
